Easter 2015, and all roads led to Newcastle. Well, perhaps not all roads, but for ASRF members all across Australia, that was their destination. To those that drive \u2018T\u2019 buckets, without screens and tops, and all those other open car aficionados, I take my hat off to you, for your dedication !<\/p>\n

Rod Squad was invited to host a Sunday service at the 2015 Nats, and we were honoured to do so. A bunch of us and our rides set off from Brissie in the rain, for the \u201cdown-hill\u201d run to Newcastle. An empty (LPG) gas tank\u00a0for Dick, a blown tyre for me that had \u2018Teddy\u2019 braking hard to avoid a huge chunk of rubber going thru the pristine grille of the Buick, and an ashtray that, strangely, kept filling with water for Chuck, meant that our trips weren\u2019t totally boring.<\/p>\n

Arriving Thursday and completing registration, saw us off to our accommodation, settled in and enjoying a great Italian meal – thanks to our lovely ladies for the hard work –\u00a0AND dessert !!<\/p>\n

The Sunday service was a top event!!\u00a0\u00a0 Thanks to Geoff for the message, the Crusties [and Col] for their music and songs, and to David for making the trip to hammer the keyboard, and lastly to Jeff from \u201cthe Preachers of Illawarra\u201d for his testimony. It was fantastic to have so many of our club there, and see some unfamiliar faces too.<\/p>\n

How do you finish up a Nats Sunday service?……….with hot cross buns, of course!! and it didn\u2019t take long for 12 dozen buns to disappear among the crowd.<\/p>\n

So, what do ya say when it\u2019s over?\u00a0 Great trip, top Nats (congrats to the team who did all that hard work), awesome cars, good food, excellent company, thanks Rod Squaders & Squatters, and most importantly, thanks for the Lord\u2019s unending grace and blessings.<\/p>\n

At the Rod Squad Church Service, Dick Thornton read from God’s Word & prayed, and Jeff Dakers from ‘The Preachers’ hot rod club (Illawarra) testified of the change that has taken place in his life since he asked\u00a0Jesus Christ to be\u00a0Lord of his life.

We were thankful\u00a0to have\u00a0David Jones from Wodonga\u00a0who added so much to our praise time with his musical gift.

The ‘Crusties’ sang

and Geoff Miller brought the message –\u00a0‘It is finished’\u00a0\u00a0 Jesus is risen!

Then it was out to the track to serve Hot Cross buns to those passing by……………….

Twelve dozen didn’t take long to disappear – lots of happy customers!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Our Club tent in the background)
